Sylvie is a professional classical soprano with over 20 years experience teaching privately, as well as in schools and conservatoires in Canada and in England. More than simply a singing teacher, Sylvie is on a mission to create the next generation of performers who can deliver songs with truth and meaning, and she passionately believes that it is the unique qualities of every individual performer that makes them able to produce that performance. Excellent results at examination, and increased self-confidence are merely by-products of that individual attention and encouragement. Indeed, many of Sylvie’s pupils go on to gain distinctions, work in the West End of London, or gain entry to the highest universities, including Oxford & Cambridge.

With a 100% success rate for students entering ABRSM, Trinity and LCM music exams, from preparatory to diploma level, Sylvie is an expert at releasing pupils’ inner talents. Focusing initially on breathing, posture and projection, students develop a solid technique, but also approach songs with theory and sight-reading embedded into that process in an exciting, practical manner. A large repertoire of songs, including musical theatre, classical, folk and opera, means that Sylvie is at home with a range of styles, as well as all levels of singing qualification.

Sylvie is also an experienced workshop and choir leader, with over a decade of experience in that field, and can be available to lead these groups upon request.
